Capsule Cleanout
After the holidays, our kitchens are often full of half-used ingredients, leftovers, and foods that don’t quite feel like a “plan.” Our bodies and schedules can feel full too, in a different way. And if this season feels a little off, that doesn’t mean anything has gone wrong. It usually just means your needs and capacity have shifted — which is normal.
As seasons change, what we have the energy for changes too. When we try to force a rigid plan that no longer fits, it can feel exhausting. But when we give ourselves permission to work with what’s already here — in our kitchens and in our lives — we create something much more sustainable. That’s what turns nutrition into a lifestyle.
This guide is here to help you turn what’s in your fridge, freezer, and pantry into nourishing, balanced meals — without overthinking, extra grocery runs, or chasing perfection. All meals below are listed in one doc here!
Step 1: Take Inventory (Before You Cook)
Before choosing a meal, pause and identify:
1 protein
Common proteins most households already have: egg/egg whites, rotisserie chicken, ground beef or ground turkey, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, beans, deli meal, or leftover steak, pork or ham
1 carbohydrate
Common carb sources: rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, bread, tortillas, pasta, oats or instant oatmeal, or crackers
1–2 fiber / produce options
Fresh or frozen both count: spinach, lettuce, bell peppers, onions, frozen vegetables, avocado, fruit, or mixed greens.
1 fat or flavor booster
These are optional in your meal but could make it more enjoyable: olive oil, cheese, avocado, nuts or nut butter, dressing, soy sauce, hot sauce, or seasoning blends.
It is important to remember that you are not “starting from scratch”, you are assembling.
If you hit 3 out of 4, you’re doing enough.

A Gentle Reminder
This week is not about “resetting.”
It’s about staying connected.
Using what you have builds confidence, reduces stress, and keeps you grounded in seasons where capacity is lower. When you pivot instead of quitting, you stay in relationship with your health — and that’s where real progress lives.
